Our Story
Two brothers, two cities, one idea: clothing you can trust.
It started with distance
When one of us moved to New York and the other stayed in Minnesota, we needed something to keep us connected beyond group chats and FaceTime. We wanted to build something together.
Around the same time, we started paying attention to what we were actually wearing. The answer, for most of it, was plastic. Polyester, nylon, elastane — marketed as performance fabric, sold as premium. We weren't buying it anymore.
The problem with modern clothing
Nearly 70% of clothing produced today is made from synthetic materials. Some of it doesn't even feel synthetic — that's the point. It's engineered to pass as natural while being cheaper to produce. The result: clothes that shed microplastics, trap heat, and sit against your skin loaded with chemical treatments you never asked for.
We wanted an alternative. Not a loud one. Just an honest one.

Fewer, better things
Oak Drive is built on a simple premise: make timeless clothes from materials you can actually trust, and don't make more than you need. Our first product — a heavyweight organic cotton tee — took months to get right. We wanted something that felt substantial, broke in beautifully, and didn't require a chemistry degree to understand the label.
Everything we make is designed to last years, not seasons.
We're not trying to reinvent clothing. We're trying to remember what it was before it got complicated.
The team
Oak Drive is two brothers — one in New York, one in Minnesota — plus CC and Mallory, who serve as our unofficial creative directors, quality control department, and the reason anything we make actually looks good. Their primary role is telling us when something isn't working. They're very good at it.
Where we're going
Right now, we make tees and hats. But the vision is bigger — timeless wardrobe staples, outerwear, and eventually a space that brings together brands and products that share our philosophy. Things that are made well, made clean, and made to stick around.
No rush. We'll get there the same way we got here — one considered decision at a time.
